Did You Know
Out of this 100 strains, at least 13 are considered high risk of causing cancer.
In fact, type 16 and type 18 together already account for 70% of cervical cancers.
Aside from causing cancer of the cervix, HPV also increases the risk of cancer in the vulva, penis, anus and throat.
The other HPV strains that do not cause cancer are called the low-risk types.

9-valent HPV vaccine is indicated in females 9 through 45 years of age for the prevention of cervical, vulvar, vaginal, and anal cancers caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) Types 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52, and 58; precancerous or dysplastic lesions caused by HPV Types 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52, and 58; and genital warts caused by HPV Types 6 and 11.
