Thank you doctor tht is really reassuring , i know that your clinic have not experienced someone that test later + after 4 weeks ( asked Dr Johnathan) , so i am relieved. I will take the 3 month test for peace of mind thank you

    Hi Dane123,

Yes It is conclusive. However, local testing guidelines still recommend a re-check at 90 days after exposure just to rule out the very low chances of false negatives.

You shouldn't go away thinking that the situation is unclear though. A negative 4th gen test at 29 days post exposure is conclusive.

    Regards

    Hi Dane123,

Yes, no worries about that. Diagnosis and treatment of these STDs does not mean deportation.

    Hi Dane123

The 4th Generation HIV test would start turning positive from 21 days onward if truly infected but I would still say wait for 28 days for your tests.

would a test at around 21-23 days be a good indication? i know 28 day is the conclusive date but if i cannot wait , will it give me good accuracy

    Dear Dane123

It is a very non specific rash, but it does not look like HIV Rash. My advice is to repeat the 4th Generation HIV Ab/Ag test just to be sure.

Hello doctor i had this rash on my body after a risky exposure , do you think this is a hiv rash? i have also had a combo duo test done at 14 days ? i know i wont get conclusive answers but is there a little assurance i can find from this? the rash went away by itself in 2 or so days and i dont experience any other symptoms
