  • Foreskin still attached to head

I am 18, uncircumcised. The foreskin is supposed to detach from the glans after or during puberty but my foreskin is still attached to the head, i can only pull back the foreskin a few centimetres and the head is not visible. What can i do to detach it? And should i be worried?

    Hi okok,

It sounds like you have phimosis, which is a thickening of the foreskin causing inability to fully retract the foreskin over the glans penis. Typically, topical treatment like steroid creams are not effective in thinning out the foreskin and the treatment is circumcision.

You would probably want to see your doctor for further evaluation. This is not a condition that will resolve on its own.

        Hi okok,

Not likely to be useful. There is a risk of self injury as well if the foreskin is very tight.

Please see your doctor for advice.
