Sir did 4th generation CMIA antigen and antibody combo test thrice and which are non reactive. Sir i did HIV 1 RT PCR and HIV 2 RT PCR and both came undetected. I have done these tests after 6years of exposure. Both the RT PCR test came undetected. But the report says that it cannot detect if the viral load is below 100copies.Sir the question is had i been infected of hiv 6years ago and as i am not on any ARTs, will the viral loads be more than 100 copies? Or even after 6years it may remain below 100 units?

Hi Anxious,
Once again, you do not have HIV. Stop testing.
If you are concerned, see a psychologist for counselling instead. You have HIV paranoia.

hello sir, I did the HIV test 6 months after exposure and the results are non-reactive. using the cmia method.
but while waiting for the window period I took oral corticosteroids.
namely in the first month for 1 week, in the second month for 1 week, in the fourth month for 1 week, at month 5 for 3 days, on month 6 for a week. because I am allergic, will my test results be affected? Please reply sir ..

Hi anomin1234,
You do not need to get tested again.
Corticosteroids and steroids are the same thing.

Yes , i understand corticosteroid and steroids are the same thing.
I use it doc , while waiting window period..
But in the article corticosteroid can affect the result..
Is that true?
Will I get a false negative result from taking corticosteroids?Last edited by Anonim1234; 02-16-2021, 09:20 AM.

Hi Anonim1234,
That's not true. Corticosteroids are unlikely to affect the window period for testing.
Your tests are conclusive and you should move on.

Hi anonim1234,
Yes Corticosteroids does suppress the immune system but only on chronic oral dosing and not to such an extent that it halts antibodies production.
6 month is more than sufficient a window period for testing.

what is the meaning of chronical oral dose?
I use
4mg methyprednisolone and 1mg dexamethasone for a week with the use of 2x a day in the first month
8mg methylprednisolone and 1mg dexamethasone for a week with the use of 2x a day for the second month
0.5mg of dexamethasone for a week using 2x a day in the 4th month
0.5mg dexamethasone for a week with the use of 2x a day in the 5th month
0.5mg of dexamethasone for a week using 2x a day for the 6th month
is it a chronic oral dose?
Does the corticosteroid I use make my antibodies undetectable and make a false negative?Last edited by Anonim1234; 02-16-2021, 06:52 PM.
