  • STD Risk of Male Underwear Sniffing

    Hello DTAP team,

First of all, thank you very much for the work that you're doing.

I'm writing to inquire about the STD risk of a peculiar exposure. A few months ago, I sniffed my roommate's underwear. The underwear had semen on it because about an hour prior (I'm not sure about the exact time), I noticed that he masturbated. After he went to work, I looked for the underwear that he wore in his laundry. I sniffed it.

I'm not sure if the underwear touched my mouth/nose. I also couldn't remember if I had fresh cuts in my hand/mouth/nose that time. Although I assume that I didn't have fresh/open cuts because I would've treated those cuts if they were present.

My question: is there a risk of being infected with HIV, Hep B, or Hep C because of that exposure?

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Sincerely,

    Renarin
