  • Pregnancy Bleeding

    Hi,
I'm in my 3rd trimester of pregnancy - week 30.

I started to notice some small amount of bleeding from my vagina yesterday.

I'm quite desperate to get advice/second opinion. My usual gynaecologist is uncontactable.

    Appreciate your advice!

    Hi Rachel,

    Thank you for your question.

Firstly, bleeding at 30 weeks of pregnancy is also known as Antepartum Haemorrhage.
There can be several causes of antepartum haemorrhage ranging from threatened preterm labour, low lying placenta or sometimes no identifiable cause can be found.

Most importantly is that you will need to see your gynae to be examined and for further investigations to be done to ensure that the bleeding is not caused by something serious.

If you are unable to contact your usual gynaecologist, you should go to the nearest emergency department with obstetric support.

    Hope this addresses your concerns.
