Ringworm refers to rashes that appear on the body like red rings with raised and sometimes squiggly borders that look like worms.
What Are Ringworms?
Ringworms are not actual “worms” but rather, a fungal infection of the skin. This infection is contagious and can spread from person to person through skin contact or the use of shared items. It can also spread from one part of the body to another, usually carried by hands. Pets with ringworms on their fur may also spread infection.
